Chicago Bears Tommie Harris buried his wife on Friday
Tommie Harris endeared himself to plenty of players and coaches in eight NFL seasons, and many of them traveled to New Orleans in his time of need. Harris buried his wife, Ashley on Friday, who died on Sunday after being hospitalized because of a stroke or a brain aneurysm two days earlier. Family friend Bill Horn said:"It was a celebration of an incredible life. To see how many lives she touched in a short period of time was amazing, and the support he received from former coaches, teammates, family and friends speaks volumes about the -character of Tommie Harris." Along with -current NFL Jay Cutler Jerseys players such as Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, Arizona Cardinals receiver Larry Fitzgerald and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive tackle Gerald McCoy, Former Bears assistant coaches Don Johnson and Eric Washington were also on hand. No one went to greater lengths to get to the funeral than Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald was vacationing in South America, and he jetted back to be there for Harris. He then returned to South America after the funeral. Ashley Harris was 29, and she gave birth to the couple's second child four months ago. Former NFL player Miles McPherson delivered the eulogy. Besides, Randy Moss can play football in Chicago Johnny Knox Jerseys this year if he desires. The Chicago Slaughter does although it remains to be seen if the Chicago Bears want Moss. The Indoor Football League team has offered the controversial receiver a contract. Slaughter coach Steve McMichael said:"What a great way to show the NFL he's still got it. If he catches four or five touchdowns in his first game, the NFL will say he can still play." The idea may not be that far-fetched, considering former NFL receiver Terrell Owens apparently will be playing for the Allen Wranglers of the IFL. He believes Moss is a unique talent. He said:"He is the best rebounder I've ever seen at receiver. With the ball up in the air, he could get it before the defensive back."McMichael said he would tell Moss the same thing he told Jerry Rice when Rice was nearing the end of his career and Rice sought him out for advice at a card show.
